On 14 December 2008, we unveiled the beginnings of a new Rose set of vestments, suitable for use on the Third Sunday of Advent and the Fourth Sunday in Lent.
Today we are pleased to be using for the first time the completed set, comprising vestments for all the ministers of the altar.
We will continue to use the altar frontal and other ornaments of the altar from our old Rose set, designed and executed for the parish,
probably in Paris early in the twentieth century and still in excellent condition.
We replaced the cope, chasuble, dalmatic, etc. as, after almost one hundred years of use, they had become worn beyond repair.
These beautiful new vestments are a gift from the Jocelyn H. Kress Family Foundation, given by her sons in memory of Ms Kress,
a member of the parish in the 1980s who died in 2008 and was buried from this Church.
We are grateful to the Kress and Turner families for their continued support of our life and ministry here at Saint Ignatius.
The new vestments were designed and executed by Watts and Company of London.
The fabric (Comper van der Weyden brocade) and colour are the design of Sir Ninian Comper (1864–1960)

The Lord’s Prayer
In all these pictures, the sacred ministers wear the parish’s new Advent blue Solemn Mass set of vestments designed and executed by Watts and Co. of London
In the first picture, the Deacon wears his chasuble. In the others, he is seen wearing the broadstole over his left shoulder in its place.
The Subdeacon is wearing the chasuble in all three pictures, and wears the humeral veil over her shoulders, holding the paten within its folds, in the last two.
